George Szlawski LLM, BSc
Principal
George studied law and science at Monash University and completed his undergraduate studies in 1976.
Since being admitted to practice in 1979, George has practised in Employment Law and Industrial Relations. George has acted for employers and worked with employer and employee organizations in a variety of industries (including manufacturing, tertiary education and health). George has also prepared and presented industry wide cases before State and Federal tribunals.
George has held senior government positions and advised and represented government departments on employment and contractual issues.
In recent times, George has broadened his practice areas to include intellectual property, climate change and aspects of commercial transactions.
George holds a Master of Laws degree and whilst his expertise applies across all aspects of employment, industrial and occupational health and safety issues, his objective is to provide practical business solutions to clients through the preparation of policies, contracts of employment, strategic advice and advocacy.
George joined RLR after ten years in a variety of positions, including Partner and Head of Employment Law with Garland Hawthorn Brahe.
George is married with two young children. His recreational interests include studying history, kayaking, skiing and travel, particularly in central Europe. George speaks English and Polish fluently.
