Hamish heads the following practice groups: Employee Relations, Financial Services, Insolvency, Intellectual Property, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Property.
Hamish has substantial experience in complex transactions and an enviable reputation for tackling his clients' legal issues in ways which assist those clients to achieve their commercial objectives.
Hamish acts for clients across a myriad of industries, including pharmaceuticals, information technology, retail, sports, media, publishing, entertainment, energy, property, resources, banking, manufacturing and telecommunications.
In the context of commercial disputes, Hamish is very proud of his record of achieving positive outcomes for his clients across Australia, particularly in the Federal Court and State Superior Courts.
Hamish also acts for clients in their dealings with various regulatory bodies, including the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, State Fair Trading Bodies, the Therapeutic Goods Administration and other State and Federal Health Regulators.
In addition to his university degrees, Hamish also has a Graduate Diploma (Applied Finance Investment) from the Securities Institute of Australia (now Financial Services Institute of Australia or Finsia). He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia & New Zealand and an associate member of the Advertising Federation of Australia.
